Meet Mr. Wagaman!
Hello! My name is Mr. Damien Wagaman. This is my 9th year teaching music and my first year at Whittier Elementary School! I am super excited to jo the music department and work alongside Ms. Fishel. I graduated (a long time ago) from Messiah College with a degree in music. I wasn’t sure I wanted to be a teacher at first, but soon realized that it was my calling and haven’t looked back since! My primary instrument is tuba, but I can also play a variety of other instruments! One of my favorites is the didgeridoo from Australia and if you’re lucky, I may play it in class one day. I also have a Master’s Degree from Liberty University in educational technology and online teaching. I love finding creative ways to incorporate technology into the music classroom.
When I am not helping students grow their love of music, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy photography, cycling, and DIY projects around the house. I also love to travel and my family just finished spending a year travelling around the United States! It was a great experience and I’m excited to share many of those experiences with you this year. I cannot wait to get to know everyone, but please be patient, it may take me a while to learn everyone’s name!
