Musical Moments
Hello!
We had a wonderful school year, and hope that you have an amazing summer 2017! This site was under construction during the summer, so check back later in September 2017 (maybe even later this week?) for the most up-to-date information on Whittier Elementary's music department. :)

Grading Policy
Students in grades K-5 receive quarterly grades for music. Students in grades 1-5 receive both a term grade and an effort score (based on a 4 point rubric). Following the FCPS guidelines for elementary music, art, and PE, the term grade is comprised of 70% classwork (including skills and participation) and 30% assessments. The effort score is earned daily and students score themselves at the end of each music class. Please contact your child's music teachers with any specific questions you might have. Check out the music curriculum for each grade on the Academics > Elementary tab of www.fcps.org.
